The Gregarious Roadtripper
Description:  Lighthouses touch the spirits of many and are frequent reasons for road trips. If the lighthouse in my
hometown is any example, the combination of engineering and nature displayed reveals the many moods of man and
Mother Nature over time.  There's always a new mood to experience it seems. The artists and photographers of our
area always seem to capture something different every time they create a new image. For that reason and others, I've
always enjoyed lighthouses and the same is true for many others.
Rather than fill a page with pictures and descriptions the exist elsewhere, I have decided to provide links that
provide everything needed: Locations, pictures and descriptions. Wikipedia does a fine job of doing this and other links
provide other interesting details nicely. There is no point in "re-inventing the wheel"  The internet has done a fine job
providing facts for many things that make interesting road trips.  This page and other pages on other subjects just
consolidate the links for you
The Pier and Lighthouse at Grand Haven, Michigan; my home town.  Currently (2017) the cat
walk superstructure has been removed for refurbishing and historical preservattion while the
U. S. Army Corp of Engineers rebuilds the pier. The cat walk will be replaced upon completion of
that work.
