The Gregarious Roadtripper
Description:   Towns and Historic Districts are great destinations for road tripping.  Some are historic, some are cool,
some are fun and some are unique.  Always interesting, often educational, and generally great shopping destinations
besides. They can be singular destinations in themselves or diversions on a bigger road trip. Big city neighborhoods and
historic districts can provide the same character as small towns and are not to be overlooked in my opinion. The idea is
to avoid the busyness and artificial, pretentious culture of big cities.  In Eastern states and Western states it seems
like every town is filled with history. Midwestern towns in general seem to be more bland, but that is misleading. Lots
of times that’s where the funky towns are.  The Eastern states were the location of the American Revolution. The
Western states were the scene of the great Western expansion of our country and the Wild West is where territories
were tamed before they could became states. By contrast, the Midwest witnessed the continued steady growth in this
country of agriculture and manufacturing, and are the stronghold of the real values and culture of our nation. In my
opinion they are all the very essence of road tripping.

This list can never really be complete. Every town in America tries to offer something for
visitors, and for every town there is someone that will enjoy what they offer. I hope to
make a large list, because there's a lot out there to explore. This is another instance
provided for you to research on your own. A good place to start is with the links on the
road trip home page.
