Description: The Thebes Bridge is a truss bridge carrying the Union Pacific Railroad across the Mississippi River (it
previously carried the Missouri Pacific and Southern Pacific, in a joint operation) between Scott City, Missouri and
Thebes, Illinois. It is owned by the Southern Illinois and Missouri Bridge Company, now a UP subsidiary.  It was opened
April 18, 1905, and is 3959 ft long. Perhaps the best accessible viewing is from Sycamore St. on the Illinois side in dry
weather and low water only is my guess. It is a dirt road on the flood plain.
