CSX and NS have busy main lines running from west to east in downtown Stevenson.  There is a former 1872 train
station standing downtown where the NS joins the CSX and continues east with trackage rights.  The old station is
now the
Stevenson Railroad Depot Museum. Every year in early June, the town hosts Stevenson Depot Days.  North
and across the tracks from the museum is ample parking and a raised covered pavilion.  N 34.86811, W 85.83982

Personal Observation:   August 2018
After about four years of adding railfan locations to this website, the uniqueness of new locations added tend to have
diminishing returns.  While Stevenson’s railroads are busy, and there is very good access to the trains, meaning no
disrespect to Stevenson, there just isn’t anything unique enough about Stevenson to warrant traveling very far to
railfan there.  This spot was featured in TRAINS Magazine, and after many years of publishing Hot Spots, I imagine
TRAINS is experiencing similar thoughts.  Still, if you live in the region, it should be a great place to railfan, and I will
continue to add such locations to the Gregarious Railfan website.   TGR
